Our storyHow to Read the Evidence
Every property is identified as a current relationship or selected past engagement. Management scope is described according to the actual appointment, not broadened for marketing effect. Owner quotations remain attributable to the named person and property. Public ratings, awards and media coverage are not automatically claimed as Bliss Spaces results. Quantified outcomes are published only where the baseline, period, source and owner approval are available. Past properties do not carry booking links or language implying current representation.

Past, Full Management
Case Study One, Céu Ceylon
PAST, FULL-MANAGEMENT SUCCESS | KALAMETIYA, SRI LANKA Céu Ceylon began as a newly created five-bedroom beachfront property between the Indian Ocean and the Kalametiya lagoon landscape. The owners had developed the physical asset; the next challenge was to create the people, systems, service culture and market presence required for a functioning hospitality business. Appointed in 2018, Bliss Spaces took on full management of the new venture.

PAST, FULL-MANAGEMENT SUCCESS | KALAMETIYA, SRI LANKA
From a Newly Completed Coastal Property to a Guest-Ready Hospitality Business
Céu Ceylon began as a newly created five-bedroom beachfront property between the Indian Ocean and the Kalametiya lagoon landscape. The owners had developed the physical asset; the next challenge was to create the people, systems, service culture and market presence required for a functioning hospitality business.
Appointed in 2018, Bliss Spaces took on full management of the new venture. The engagement connected setup, launch, operations, sales and owner communication around one objective: create a professionally run retreat that remained personal, peaceful and rooted in its location.
PAST-ENGAGEMENT NOTICE: Bliss Spaces does not currently manage, represent or accept bookings for Céu Ceylon.
The Management Challenge
Opening readiness involved far more than preparing rooms. Staff roles, recruitment, training, purchasing, menus, supplies, guest information, maintenance, reservations, sales channels and destination experiences had to work together before the first stays could establish expectations that the team could continue to deliver.
The Full-Management Scope
Pre-opening planning and launch readiness
Recruitment, induction and team structure
Rooms, housekeeping and maintenance coordination
Food, beverage, purchasing and service routines
Guest communication and experience delivery
Pricing, reservations, distribution and sales
Digital content and market positioning
Finance, reporting and owner communication

Case Study Two, Owl and the Pussycat Hotel
PAST, FULL-MANAGEMENT SUCCESS | THALPE, GALLE Owl and the Pussycat was conceived as the opposite of an anonymous coastal hotel. Colour, art, bespoke furniture and a playful literary identity gave the property immediate distinction. The management challenge was to protect that originality while building the operational discipline expected of an internationally positioned boutique hotel.

PAST, FULL-MANAGEMENT SUCCESS | THALPE, GALLE
Turning a Singular Creative Vision into a Living Boutique Hotel
Owl and the Pussycat was conceived as the opposite of an anonymous coastal hotel. Colour, art, bespoke furniture and a playful literary identity gave the property immediate distinction. The management challenge was to protect that originality while building the operational discipline expected of an internationally positioned boutique hotel.
During a former full-management appointment, the Bliss Spaces team helped translate the concept into daily hospitality, connecting people, service, rooms, housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, sales, distribution, revenue and reporting around one coherent brand promise.
PAST-ENGAGEMENT NOTICE: Bliss Spaces does not currently manage, represent or accept bookings for Owl and the Pussycat Hotel.
Originality Without Operational Drift
Highly individual properties can attract attention before they develop the systems required to deliver consistently. The task was not to standardise away the personality. It was to create enough clarity that playfulness, warmth and coastal ease could be experienced reliably rather than depending on improvisation.
What Full Management Needed to Connect
Translate the brand idea into an observable guest experience
Recruit, organise, train and lead the hotel team
Coordinate rooms, housekeeping, maintenance and readiness
Shape food, beverage and social spaces as part of the brand
Establish sales, distribution, pricing and revenue routines
Support digital visibility, content and positioning
Create management reporting and accountability
Protect the owner’s creative vision while making it operationally workable
Owl and the Pussycat, Public Proof and Necessary Boundaries
The hotel’s official public records show strong guest recognition and international media visibility across different years. These facts demonstrate the property’s continuing appeal; however, an award or rating should be attributed to Bliss Spaces only when the management period, evidence and causal relationship are verified. What Owners Can Take from This Case A strong concept needs an operating model equal to the idea. Boutique does not mean informal management; detail and accountability matter more when every room is different.

What Owners Can Take from This Case
A strong concept needs an operating model equal to the idea.
Boutique does not mean informal management; detail and accountability matter more when every room is different.
Brand, people, food, maintenance, sales and revenue cannot be managed as separate stories.
Guest-facing spontaneity depends on disciplined work behind the scenes.
Awards and media attention create opportunity, but consistent delivery protects value.
Management success should be demonstrated with dated operational and commercial evidence.
